Which subject to publish?

Which subject to publish?

AN wrote "I'm not sure which ideas to pursue in my publishing. I have several interests, but i don't know which would attract the most interest or pay well."

Answer; Without big-budget research nobody knows for sure. For many reasons I'd give them all a try, especially if they have anything in common.

It takes time and many posts (assuming you're publishing on blogs or similar) to tell which of your ideas has the best prospects, and incidentally publishing with a database ( a blog or similar) has the advantage that you can modify the name and subject of the blog after you've learned more clearly what you wish to do and where the best prospects are.

If your blogs are related it is a good idea to host them on the same domain, typically publishing each blog on a subdomain.
Just get started, then add useful extras like FeedBurner feeds, Google Webmaster tools, Technorati membershup, etc., when you're ready.

Blogger and WordPress are the most popular blogging platforms. The free wordpress.com blog has many limitations compared to buying good hosting and installing the full WordPress.org system.

Blogger is totally free, has endless tools and add-ons. There are a few snags with the default archiving, but they don't need sorting until you're fairly established.

Any questions ? :)

SEO for artists - free and DIY

SEO for Artists - free and DIY is Best

Here's an interesting article on a site that has 450 pages (Google and Yahoo agree) and an alexa traffic rank of 2,400,000 (not very good).

I agree that SEO attracts dodgy people - there's lots of money involved! SEO for arts is even worse, because 'artists' for some reason are targetted as a vulnerable group lacking in
technical know how.

The good news?

1. No end of SEO help for genuine artists is available for free

2. Any good paid SEO company will provide glowing testimonials and facts from satisfied customers.

If they don't, leave ...
